Arrival by plane:
From the airport of Palermo to Castell'Umberto. ca. 2 hours:
From the airport Palermo enter the autostrada direction Palermo. Reaching Palermo the highway becomes a four lane city road. Just go straight ahead, passing several traffic lights and when leaving Palermo you are driving on the A19 highway direction Messina. After 46 km the highway splits and you need to follow the signs direction Messina (A20). After ca. 100km you will pass the exit Sant’ Agata di Militello. Next exit is called Rocca di Caprileone/Capo d’Orlando ovest. You need to take that exit and go downhill direction Rocca and Capo d’Orlando. At the end of this road you take the right turn direction Rocca. You will pass Rocca and follow the S113 direction Capo d’Orlando. Patiently following this road (do not exit to Capo'd Orlando centro) you will find on the right hand side a gas station (ESSO). Now turn right direction Randazzo and Naso. Follow this road S116 ca. 15km uphill direction Naso. On the right hand side you will see a cemetary that you need to pass. In a steep left turn with signs to Naso you need to go quasi straight direction Castell’Umberto. This road now brings you stright after ca. 4km into the center of Castell’Umberto. From here on please follow the separate directions provided directly to you.
From the airport Catania to Castell'Umberto. ca. 2.5 hours:
From the airport Catania use the highway surrounding Catania (E46) in direction north (Messina). You will enter the A18 direction Messina. Follow the A18 until you merge into the A20 direction Palermo. Just follow the A20 until you hit the exit Brolo/Capo d’orlando est. After you exit take the direction Brolo until you hit the road S113. Turn left direction Capo d’Orlando. Follow this road until on the left hand side you notice the ESSO gas station with signs left to Randazzo and Naso. Now turn left direction Randazzo and Naso. Follow this road S116 ca. 15km uphill direction Naso. On the right hand side you will see a cemetary that you need to pass. In a steep left turn with signs to Naso you need to go almost straight direction Castell’Umberto. This road now brings you stright after ca. 4km into the center of Castell’Umberto. From here on please follow the separate directions provided directly to you.
